25 Week Community Based Football
Development Program for Juniors
Foreword
The cost to attend the majority of privately run “academy programs” is beyond the reach of many parents. If they were more affordable, many children would attend such a program and gain further and advanced training and skill development from qualified and professional coaches. The cost for a family per child to attend these professional coaching Academies can range between $1,000 through to over $4,000 per season.
DF Sports Management Australia will provide a minimal cost community skill development programme commencing in March 2010.
What we offer?
DF Sports Management Australia has the resources and experience to provide and deliver community based programs of the highest standard.
We have access to Football Federation of Australia (FFA), Union of European Football Association (UEFA), English Football Association (FA) and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) licenced coaches, current and former players who have played at the highest level both here in Australia and overseas.
Our Philosophy
The philosophy applied by our network of coaches and businesses is based on providing child and player development by implementing activities of specific points that offer inspiration and aspiration to these individuals whilst maintaining a strong focus of encouraging fun and participation.
The environment in which we deliver this module is always in a safe, open and positive learning environment.
All activity is directed and managed to the development age and ability of the participant ensuring that each coaching session is challenging but achievable. This ensures that each and every child leaves the session with a greater level of self esteem but most importantly feels that they have been part of and experienced an activity of fun and enjoyment.
This in turn creates an opportunity for the participants to become active learners giving them ownership for their problem solving and decision making progress.
The Development Model
Our training model targets 5 key areas of player and child development - technical, tactical, physical, mental and perhaps one of the key elements of delivery - social. These 5 areas address and deliver better motor skills and improve the players and child’s general well being through learning in a fun and controlled environment. It allows and teaches the individuals the basics of respect for others regardless of the colour, gender, race or their social standing.
TECHNICAL
Through the delivery of specific tricks and turns, players learn to dominate 1 v 1 situations and be confident with the football at their feet. Players are taught the fundamentals of passing long and short, receiving and control techniques, finishing (scoring), shooting and heading the ball.
TACTICAL
Enhance the players understanding of why, when and where they use these techniques in small sided games leading up to 11 v 11 principles with the directive of changing pace, direction and play being present. All activities will be delivered relating to the developmental age and ability of the players participating in the various level of program being offered.
PHYSICAL
Players will learn how to train their bodies specifically to the demands of the game. Speed, strength, suppleness, stamina and skill will be developed to allow players to achieve their optimum level of performance. Players will also learn how fuelling and preparing their bodies off the field will give them the best chance on it!
MENTAL
Developing a winning mentality requires strong character and a positive attitude. Through the implementation of self talk, goal setting and focus – refocus this will be addressed in the dressing room, on the pitch and be constantly evident throughout the coaching program. By redefining ‘winning’ we will show players how to achieve individual success.
SOCIAL
Through our ‘Its Not Just a Game’ program, children will be provided with a great opportunity to develop their social skills. Implementation will be integral to each session with elements of our code of conduct encouraged in dressing room briefs and de-briefs as well as coaching sessions.
The reward of the Football Development module is enabling children and players to expand their knowledge of football through developing and advancing their individual skills in all key areas of the game – goalkeeping, defending, shooting, finishing (scoring), speed and agility. Moreover these children have a better understanding of social skills needed within sport in general and a level of self belief that they may not have had prior to commencement within the program.
